We could be getting much better AI, but at a much higher price. An IPO could give Anthropic billions more dollars to develop their AI models and expand its computing power. But here’s the catch. Public investors expect returns, and that could put a lot more pressure on subscription fees, free plans, and even usage limits. And it doesn’t just stop with Claude. If Claude gets exponentially better, how will OpenAI or Google respond? Will they release even better models, lower their prices, or charge more for premium features? Now here’s my take: I think competition is good. I use Claude all the time, but I wouldn’t get too loyal to just one AI company. My advice is to use whichever tool gives you the best results for your money. Because ultimately, the winners should be us.
