Would you still spend $1,000+ on an Android phone if protecting your privacy meant turning off some of the personalization you paid for? That’s the question I think gets missed in the Android vs iPhone privacy debate. Google gives Samsung Galaxy and Pixel users controls over things like ad personalization, activity collection and Gemini Keep Activity. Turning those settings off doesn’t suddenly make your phone “dumb.” But some privacy choices CAN reduce personalization or disable certain connected AI features. So before spending flagship-phone money, I think there’s a bigger question worth asking: How much of what makes your phone feel “smart” depends on how much you’re comfortable letting Google remember about you? #onlineprivacy #androidtips #androidprivacy #igtech #samsunggalaxy

Is your AirDrop not working or stuck on “Waiting” when sending files between your iPhone and other Apple devices? Before you start changing a bunch of settings, try these 5 AirDrop troubleshooting fixes first. One of them surprised me: my MacBook could see my iPhone, but AirDrop would sit on “Waiting” and eventually fail. The problem was my VPN. As soon as I disconnected it on my Mac, AirDrop worked again. The carousel walks you through that fix plus a few of the most useful things to check when AirDrop won’t connect or keeps failing. Save this for the next time AirDrop decides it doesn’t want to cooperate. #airdrop #iphonetips #appletips #iphonetricks #igtech

P1-Should you switch from Android to iPhone because your whole family uses iPhones? A few years ago, being the only Android user in an iPhone family could be genuinely annoying. But RCS messaging, better photo sharing, FaceTime links and even Pixel 10-to-AirDrop sharing have removed a lot of those barriers. So if you already love your Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel or other Android phone, I wouldn’t switch JUST to fit into an iPhone family. But there’s one thing that could change my answer: privacy. That’s Part 2. #AndroidVSiPhone #AndroidTips #iPhoneTips #SamsungGalaxy #GooglePixel

You don’t need the newest iPhone to use some of the best iOS 27 features. And these 5 useful iOS 27 features have nothing to do with Siri AI, including separate alarm volume, easier copy and paste, loyalty cards in Apple Wallet, saving photos from videos, and automatic captions. Save this for later so you can try them on your iPhone. #ios27 #iOS27Tips #iphonetips #iPhoneFeatures #appletips

If you forgot your Apple ID password or got locked out of your Apple Account, would you know how to get back in? Your iPhone has a feature called Recovery Contact that can make Apple Account recovery much easier. A Recovery Contact is someone you trust who can give you a recovery code if you ever forget your Apple Account password or lose access to your account. And no, they cannot see your photos, messages, passwords, email or anything else inside your account. They only have the ability to provide the recovery code you need. To set up a Recovery Contact on iPhone: Settings → Your Name → Sign-In & Security → Recovery Contacts → Add Recovery Contact Set it up before you actually need it. Save this so you can set it up without forgetting the steps, and send it to the person you’d trust to be your Recovery Contact.

How private is the new Siri AI in iOS 27, and what happens to your messages, emails, photos, and other personal information when you use it? First, Siri AI does not automatically turn on just because you updated to iOS 27. On a supported iPhone (iPhone 15 Pro or newer models), you have to opt in through Settings → Siri → Try Siri AI (Beta), and depending on availability, you may need to join a waitlist. Keep in mind that this feature may not be available in your country yet. What makes the new Siri different is that it can use personal context already on your iPhone to help answer questions and find information you’ve forgotten where you saved. Apple says many Siri AI requests are processed directly on your iPhone. When a request needs more computing power, Apple can use Private Cloud Compute. Apple says the data processed there is not stored and is not accessible to Apple. Apple also says Private Cloud Compute was designed so independent security researchers can inspect the software and verify how those privacy protections work. Surprisingly, Google Gemini technology helped power Apple’s next generation of AI models. That does NOT mean your texts, emails, and photos are automatically being handed over to Google. One important privacy setting to know about: Apple has an optional Improve Siri & Apple Intelligence setting. If you opt in, Apple can use certain Siri interactions to help improve Siri and train its foundation models. You can review that under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. #iphonetips #ios27 #iphoneupdate #siriai #igtech
